Origins of Divorce-ay
First of all what I want to do is establish what this blog is all about and why I am creating it. I have felt for some time that I needed to write down my experiences from my marriage and through my divorce and how it is to have split custody with my ex-husband.
The title of my blog came from one of my favorite people in the world, my sister in law Megan. She was in town from South Dakota and we were black Friday shopping when we decided to send a Marco Polo to our sisters and low and behold Divorce-ay came around. It was right before I was divorced and we (my whole family) were ready for the next chapter in my life. It was soon after this that I had the thought to start a blog with this title. It only took four years to actually get started.
I have been listening to conference talks on a nightly basis, and when I came to President Nelsons talk "Let God Prevail." I sat there afterward and wanted to let God prevail in my life. I have prayed every night to get inspiration on how I can let Him prevail, because even though I wanted it, I had no idea how I could go about it. The thought about actually starting this blog kept coming back to me.
"The word willing is crucial to this interpretation of Israel. We all have our agency. We can choose to be of Israel, or not. We can choose to let God prevail in our lives, or not. We can choose to let God be the most powerful influence in our lives, or not."
-President Nelson
I am not sure the reason or purpose of this blog is but I am going to share what I feel the Lord wants me to. I am ready and willing to let the Lord prevail in my life and I hope this is one small thing that can help in making that happen.
